When it hits 2,500+ I know I'm defeated.  I tried, but when I slowly went through them one by one and realised after about 30 minutes that I had barely made a dent, that it was time to concede.  I literally had my hand over my eyes while I mass-clicked the x's on all the art I have yet to see.  I like to think that it means that I will someday go through some of your galleries and actually, you know, see something new!  And not be rushed!  So yay for that, when it happens anyway.

FFXIV still kinda owns my life, which is going as good as it can under the circumstances.  Singing along to my very upbeat playlist this afternoon having booked a couple of tickets to see Dragonball Z at the cinema. xD  The kid in me wanted to see it.  The adult in me could afford to!  Win-win.  Hope you're all doing well.  It feels good to be writing a journal entry here and to not have a huge endless list of things to go through, I must admit.  I feel like I'm restarting and I want to make it everyone here's duty to slap me if I'm ever away for longer than a week again.  I'm hoping to return to the FanArt Friday article series at EoFF, too, so be sure to get your FF art up sooner rather than later. ;)

Love you guys, you're always awesome.  Again, hope you're all having a wonderful time in life, and if you're not, I hope it turns upwards real fast because everyone deserves to have fun and be happy.

I swear I will do this someday.  x_x  FFXIV rules my life lately, but I'm gettin' there.  And I still have plans for an art project!  Just... after I get this thing in FFXIV done... >_>;

Well, I'm getting back into a steady life, and getting on alright.  :)  Just quickly want to say a huge thank you to those who reached out to me, you're fantastic people: x-Memoire-x CoffeeCat-J magedusted LadyJuxtaposition PunctualTurtle Lyra-Kotto and, in particular, DrAssenov who was there for me at the worst of times and helped me keep my head together and pull through.  So with that out of the way, on to other things...

...who is interested in starting up another FF FanArt project?  I'm mulling it over in my head, how I'd go about it and all that.  I'm thinking FFVIII since that was frequently mentioned by artists when I set up the VII project, and with no fixed deadline it would mean a bit more room to adjust near the end.  I'd of course set up a deadline either way, but it would probably be a lot more accommodating!

But anyway, if you're interested, let me know which of the games you would most like to help create an art project for and how much time you think is reasonable for a project seeking 100 artists and 200+ works of art. :)

This is a very early stage idea, so for now it's mostly brainstorming.

If anyone wants to send me a note, feel free to do so.  I'm going through a really rough period in life and could use some friends.  Doesn't have to be about what I'm going through (it can if you want), I just find that communicating with people makes me feel a little more at ease.

Game over.
Would anyone be interested in me doing an "Artist of the Week" journal series?  Okay, so maybe it won't be weekly, maybe sometimes I'll do it daily and sometimes I'll leave it for a month.  But I have a list of about... 20-30 artists at the moment I'd love to praise in a journal entry and hopefully some of them will get a few more watchers that way.  It'd also give me more licence to say what I personally think about someone's art rather than just the normal promotion of Final Fantasy art that I manage at EoFF (although because it is me, Final Fantasy WILL probably feature heavily regardless :D).  What do you think?  Do you know anyone else that does this?  Any tips, thoughts or advice?

PS. Don't forget about my desire to get more questions about Aiyon.  Shameless plug, right here. ;)  Thanks to the good Doc and LadyJ for their questions since I put the stuff up!  I'm gonna try and put more Aiyon things up soon but it'll likely be more text and information than actual art of any kind.  Although I do have a couple of sketches and diagrams etc, so you never know...
Aiyon is my world.  Literally!  I've created it from scratch, and I have books on it at home, just for my own personal enjoyment.  My ultimate dream (and I like to keep my dreams as dreams, to avoid them becoming jobs) is to have an RPG created based on Aiyon.  So I keep that RPG ticking along in my head, it's constantly going through concepts and developments.  I really love this thing about as much as I love Final Fantasy... and for those who don't know me that means I love it a lot. ;)

More than anything, I welcome questions on this world and who knows, maybe I'll submit some more maps, diagrams and perhaps even drawings.  If there is enough interest, I'll also submit some text stuff - character information, text based on how I feel about things like the world's religion, countries, races, etc.  All kinds of things.  If there is interest, anyway. ;)  We'll see how it goes, I've nothing to lose really, but I do love building the world and I find it builds best when someone asks me questions about it, so seriously, go check the maps I've put up so far and get those questions coming.

For some questions I've already been asked, check out this thread at EoFF: home.eyesonff.com/showthread.p…
I have a miniature project I want to put together but will only be able to do so with the commitment of a number of artists. It's simple and to the point, so I'll make it public. Fourteen Days of Christmas! Or rather, Fourteen Games of Christmas, because we don't have enough time for Fourteen Days (it'd be the 29th before we're done!). For this one, we'll be doing FFI-FFXIIV, and will include as many players as you wish, but must include the main playable cast for each game (exception: FFXI/FFXIV).

Kudos to x-Memoire-xeirhjienBen198810NaelesSoulStryder210 and Mona737 for inspiring this little idea.

So, if we can get fourteen artists for this, that would be amazing.  No real preference on quality of pictures, this is just for a single showcase at Eyes on Final Fantasy to help spread some Christmas cheer!  So long as they are 100% your own work, are at least 600x600 in dimensions and have been given the Christmas treatment, I'll be happy.  That could mean the characters dressing up a Christmas tree, building a snowman, opening presents, eating a festive dinner or just posing in Christmas attire.  Deadline is 24th December.  All art will appear in an EoFF article and be promoted via social media, with full credit provided (as always, you know I'm good for it!).  You can post your works on DA as soon as you like, even if it's before the deadline.  This is a public project, so feel free to discuss here as much as you like.

Right, all you Final Fantasy artists out there... how many of you like forums?  How many of you like showing off your art to adoring fans?  How many of you like to create art - Final Fantasy or otherwise - and get comments on it?

Now, obviously you can do all of this here at DeviantArt, but I'd be eternally grateful if any of you would like to start a thread in Eyes on Final Fantasy's art forum.  It's called Relm's Studio and can be found in the below location...

home.eyesonff.com/forumdisplay…

It may not have a 'favourites' thing for you to live on, but it certainly is one of the oldest and arguably the most active Final Fantasy community on the internet.  And sure, I happen to own it, but that's beside the point... I want my friends there to see all of your wonderful artwork!

Every week I showcase five artists and a cosplayer, and they always get good feedback from my members.  I'm sure, however, that they would much rather make comments that they know you'll read, so feel free to jump into Relm's Studio, post some of your art (again, it doesn't have to be FF art, but it always helps!) and I hope you get a great response from our members. :)

Cross-posted to the EyesonFF group.
My Mum was always the person who got me into art in the first place and she remains my favourite artist of all time.  I like to think of myself as her biggest fan and her biggest critic. ;)  A number of you have asked to see her art beforehand and I've finally got her into DA - so feel free to check out her (now very full!) gallery on her new DA page: JudithAitken :D  Hope you like her stuff as much as I do!

I own a number of her works through gift or purchase, although many of them are back in NZ in the houses of my family.  I look forward to the day I move back to NZ and have them adorn many walls. :)  No rush, though - got a lot to do over here in Scotland with my lovely wife, and thankfully I still have a few of her artworks up on my walls in our flat. :)
I have sent 200 notes in the past week, and over 100 of them were in the past two days. x_x  I can't deny it, though, it's been great getting in touch with old friends from the past project and meeting new people too.  :D  I'm going to be pretty busy over the coming 3-4 days with friends staying over this weekend, but I'll try to keep in touch with everyone.  This is pretty exciting!  It's been really nice to look through everyone's artwork too.  This community is such a positive, productive and just inspiring place to be.
